Diamond Story Warranty & Policies

At Diamond Story, we take pride in the exceptional quality of our custom jewellery. Therefore, all our custom pieces come with a comprehensive lifetime warranty against faults in workmanship and materials, subject to the conditions outlined below:

Custom Jewellery Warranty

  • Coverage: The warranty covers defects caused by faulty materials or workmanship. It does not include issues resulting from general wear and tear, scratching, accidental damage, neglect, misuse, or loss of stones or the entire item.

  • Eligibility: The item must be purchased and manufactured by Diamond Story. Any modifications or repairs performed by outside sources after purchase will void the warranty.

  • Maintenance: Customers must have their jewellery serviced annually to maintain warranty coverage. The annual servicing fee is $40 + GST. Failure to service the item each year will void the warranty.

  • In Case of Issues: If a problem arises, please contact us and bring your jewellery in promptly for inspection. Items covered under warranty will be repaired free of charge; otherwise, repair estimates will be provided.

Premade Jewellery Warranty

While our custom jewellery is made in-house by our skilled jewellers, our premade collection is sourced from trusted Australian and international suppliers. These items come with a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the following conditions:

  • Coverage: The warranty covers defects caused by faulty materials or craftsmanship but excludes issues related to wear and tear, scratching, accidental damage, neglect, misuse, or loss of stones or the item itself.

  • Reparations: Repairs or modifications performed by third parties void the warranty.

  • Maintenance: Regular annual servicing is required to remain eligible for warranty coverage, at a cost of $40 + GST. Not servicing the item will void the warranty.

  • In Case of Issues: Please bring your jewellery in promptly for inspection. Covered items will be repaired free of charge; non-covered items will receive a repair estimate.

Lifetime Resize Policy

We understand that finger sizes can change over time. That’s why Diamond Story offers one free resize per year for the lifetime of the ring—a service not commonly provided by other jewelers. Please note the following conditions:

  • Eligibility: The ring must have been purchased and manufactured by Diamond Story. Only rings with diamonds bought from us qualify for lifetime resizing; plain bands qualify for one free resize only.

  • Material & Size: Resizing is available on 9K, 14K, and 18K white, yellow, or rose gold, as well as Platinum 950. Resizes can be up or down by up to two sizes; larger adjustments will incur a fee.

  • Limitations: Free resizing does not apply to diamond bands with stones covering more than two-thirds of the band.

  • Resizing & Finishing: The first resize includes polishing and rhodium coating. Subsequent resizes are for the resizing only; polishing and rhodium coating are available for an additional fee. Please note that without polishing or coating, the ring may have a rougher finish post-resize.

  • Exclusions: Free resizing is limited to rings. Bangles, bracelets, and necklaces are excluded.
